A recent edition to the services provided by Sun is the availability of a “fingerprint” database for Solaris executables, configuration files and startup scripts. This database contains the original MD5 checksums for the files at installation time. You can therefore check the files on your server against the database to see if they have been modified.
1. Download MD5 binaries from http://sunsolve.sun.com/md5/md5.tar.Z 2. Usage example: find /usr/bin -type f -print | xargs -n 100 /opt/md5/md5-sparc > /tmp/md5.txt 3. Check against database at: http://sunsolve.sun.com/pub-cgi/fileFingerprints.pl
